Ateh Ekinde is an up and coming Minneapolis comedian who found his love for the stage in 2019 and has been quickly rising in the Twin Cities comedy scene ever since

Ateh Ekinde could be a doctor right now.
The 30-year-old was on course to enter medical school roughly four years ago, until a chance encounter with stand-up comedy changed his trajectory.
“When I was young I thought I really wanted to be a doctor,” Ekinde says. “Around 2019 I was trying to get into med school and sort of realized like, I’m not sure this is for me. I did my first open mic at Acme Comedy Company around that time and it went very well, and I was just like, ‘Oh, this is what I want to do.’”
Of course, telling mom and dad that you’re switching careers from doctor to aspiring stand-up comic isn’t necessarily a conversation that many parents dream of.
“It was tough because my parents had never really seen that side of me,” Ekinde continues. “They never saw that I had this joker or creative side. So I think the combination of that and the thought that I was just running away from medical school – which I was – gave them a lot of anxiety. But even though they may not have always believed in it [comedy], they always supported me.’”
Ekinde has come a long way since then, regularly featuring at clubs all over the Midwest, and opening for Brendan Gay on the road.

The Plus is a full service bar and restaurant. Food and drink will be available at the show. Seating is first come, first serve.
All advanced tickets are will-call, e-ticket, or print-at-home. No physical tickets will be delivered for the performance. When you buy in advance, your name will appear on a list at the door to assure your entry.
Please pay close attention to the show start time. We open the doors to the main room at 6pm for people who would like to eat before or during the show. We do this to put less stress on our staff, and make it easier for those who want the best seats. The show does not start until 8:00pm. We start checking tickets at 7:30pm. You are allowed to enter the main room if you are eating dinner before we start checking tickets.
Online sales close at 6pm the day of the show. If you miss the window for online sales - don't worry - tickets can be purchased at the door when the doors open at 7:30pm. The show is not - we repeat - not sold out unless there is a separate announcement indicating so. Please do not call the restaurant.
No photos or video recording are allowed during the performance.
The Plus and Clear Water Comedy reserve the right to refuse service or deny entry for anyone engaging in disruptive or disrespectful behavior. No talking, heckling, texting, or other distracting behavior is permitted. If this occurs and you are asked to leave the show, there will be no refunds.
