Experience the grand lifestyle of the lumber era with a guided tour of the Mansion. This 1887 restored and furnished lumber baron's home is truly unique. The Cook-Rutledge Mansion is one of the finest remaining examples of High Victorian Italianate architecture in Wisconsin. The Mansion is also a celebrity of sorts, starring in the new Chippewa Falls-based, award-winning, independent movie "The Lumber Baron."
The Cook-Rutledge Mansion does not receive any government funding -- no tax dollars for its maintenance -- and relies on monetary gifts from the generosity of businesses and private individuals. The Cook-Rutledge Mansion is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Tax deductible donations can be made directly to the Mansion or the Cook-Rutledge Mansion Fund of the Community Foundation of Chippewa County.
