BAD POSTURE CLUB
Bad Posture Club is a folk duo made up of Maren Day and Morgan Kavanagh. Their songwriting explores themes of home-places, landscapes, memory, family, and the strange relationship between human softness and the unyielding societal structures we both participate in, and push against. When reinterpreting traditional folk songs, they carve out space and agency for queer female voices. Drawing the listener in with unusually close vocal harmony and sparse instrumental arrangements, Bad Posture Club creates intimacy and warmth, inviting togetherness in song.
Sarah Elstran makes music under the name The Nunnery that bridges the gap between bright-eyed pop composition and hands-on atmospheric live layering of voice. Her vocal loops give us the kind of detail and wide, multi-octave range that we might come to expect from a marquee pop star, while her production decisions continually keep us guessing as to what rabbit holes her tracks might fall into next.
Laura Hugo currently resides in Minneapolis, MN but is originally from the Navajo Nation in Arizona
