Join us for an evening of toasted walnuts, sautéed apples, and equal amounts of butter and cheer. The United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley's Emerging Leaders group is hosting its first ever Friendraiser - a cooking class!

This evening will be a fun way to meet new friends, eat great food that you make yourself, and we might even have a few minutes to share a couple of low commitment ways you and your crew can share your time, energy, and skills to help out others in the Chippewa Valley.

At this event, you can look forward to learning a smattering of basic kitchen and cooking skills and then work to prepare and enjoy a carefully curated dinner that you can repeat in your own kitchen to convince your friends and family and you can "cook fancy" now. The class will be hosted by Clint Markin, CRPC®, CFP®, Financial Advisor, Markin Mickelson Financial Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC. Former Chef at the St. Paul Grill in the historic St. Paul Hotel, Downtown St. Paul, MN.

The menu of items you'll be preparing and eating that night will consist of three courses:

1st Course
Mixed Green Salad
White Balsamic Vinaigrette
Goat Cheese
Toasted Walnuts

2nd Course
Roast Pork Loin
Caramelized Apples and Onions
White Wine-Herb Sauce
Israeli Couscous

3rd Course

We look forward to meeting you and hanging out for dinner together!

About the Chef:
Clint Markin will bring a wealth of professional and personal culinary experience to the Emerging Leaders dinner party. He began his culinary career at the North African-inspired Barbary Fig on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. From there, Clint moved to the East Coast-inspired steakhouse, the St. Paul Grill, in downtown St. Paul. During his time there, the restaurant was consistently named one of the top restaurants in the Twin Cities. Throughout his five years at the St. Paul Grill, he had the opportunity to cook for 2 US Presidents, a Vice President, numerous Congress people, celebrities, professional athletes, and an adoring public.

After his adventures in the culinary world, Clint began a career in financial consulting with A.G. Edwards (now Wells Fargo Advisors) in downtown Minneapolis. In 2007, Clint moved his practice to Eau Claire to work with and live closer to his family. Clint and his wife, Brianne, have two children, Jameson and Josephine. In his spare time Clint enjoys reading, being active in the community and of course, throwing dinner parties for family and friends.
