If you've missed roller derby for the last couple of years, this is your chance to see it again as CVRD brings roller derby back to the Chippewa Valley!

Chippewa Valley Roller Derby (CVRD) is still without a "regular" home venue- we are practicing weekly at High Roller Skating Center of Eau Claire and travelling for games, however, the skating rink is not big enough for us to host an audience or have regular home games. Luckily, Hobbs Municipal Ice Arena has the ice off of the O'Brien Rink very briefly each year, and we were able to snag one of those weekends to host this event!

ABOUT THE EVENT: Our annual Bruise-A-Thon Mixer is a 4-game tournament featuring the most talented skaters from around the midwest! CVRD skaters and skaters from neighboring leagues mix up into 4 teams: The Shiners, The Maulers, The Thrashers, and the Contusions for this full day of hard-hitting roller derby action! Trackside or bleacher seating is available, all for the same ticket price. Because this may be our only chance to have a home game this season, we want this event to be bigger and better than ever! This event will also feature our annual TATTOO RAFFLE- with tons of certificates for local tattoo artists, piercers, and permanent makeup specialists available! Raffle tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5, or $20 for an arm's length (usually 25-28 tickets). Place your tickets in the bucket for the artist you want to visit, and we'll draw and announce the winners between the 3rd and 4th games. Lastly, we wanted to go bigger than ever with our halftime entertainment, too! Chippewa Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, our featured charity, will also be producing a 30-minute halftime drag show for us!

All of CVRD's events are PG-13 and family friendly- Tickets are $10 in advance or at the door, and kids 12 and under are FREE!

This may be your only chance to see roller derby here in Eau Claire in the foreseeable future, so if you're thinking about it, this is the time to get your tickets!

This event is presented by Chippewa Valley Roller Derby, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Chippewa Valley Roller Derby is Eau Claire’s original flat track roller derby league. Originally named Chippewa Valley Roller Girls, we now do business as Chippewa Valley Roller Derby. CVRD is managed and operated entirely by the skaters via an elected board of directors and numerous skater-led committees. We work together to put on all of our home events, organize fundraisers, promote and market the league, and maintain relationships with charities in our community. In order to cooperatively cover costs our skaters pay monthly dues and pay for their own equipment. During our season, we practice three times a week and have one or two games per month. During our off-season, the league focuses on recruitment, fundraising, and skills training. As a non-profit organization, one of our goals is to provide community awareness and financial assistance to local charities through the sport of Roller Derby. CVRD is proud to be an active part in the Chippewa Valley community by holding events and donating our time and resources for the betterment of local charities.
