Sun, Sep 16 at 10am
The "Arrow" is a symbol of Native American tribal life, hundreds of years ago.
If arrows are crossed they signify friendship, and more specifically, "A bundle of five arrows typically designates strength, as a single arrow can be easily broken, but a bundle of arrows is tougher to break." Friends often create/seek out arrow symbols as tattoos and other memorabilia to represent the connection between each individual. This is why there is a discount if two people sign up under the same registration :)
There are other significant meanings of the arrow symbol. An arrow going through an object can represent courage as one moves forward, which is why a beautiful flower in the center, although delicate can represent strength and courage as one moves through roadblocks or challenges in order to achieve a goal. They also say, a solitary arrow represents defense and protection from harm. It can also be used as a symbol of movement or direction.
Though a simple design, this symbol is extremely popular because of the powerful, positive meanings associated with it.
For this workshop, artists will create a unique arrow design as well as a felt flower bundle to adorn the arrow. Because of the cultural significance of this symbol, there will be a discount for friends who sign up together.
