"Friendship" Arrow String Art Workshop
Sun, May 20 from 10am - 12pm
The "Arrow" is a symbol of Native American tribal life, hundreds of years ago.
If arrows are crossed they signify friendship, and more specifically, "A bundle of five arrows typically designates strength, as a single arrow can be easily broken, but a bundle of arrows is tougher to break." An arrow through a diamond symbol can represent courage as one moves forward. They also say, "A solitary arrow represents defense and protection from harm. It can also be used as a symbol of movement or direction."Though a simple design, this symbol is extremely popular because of the powerful, positive meanings associated with it.
For this workshop, artists will create a unique arrow design as well as a felt flower bundle to adorn the arrow. Because of the cultural significance of this symbol, there will be a discount for friends who sign up together.
